Meet the Team

  • Daniel Kraus

CO-FOUNDER, AND RESEARCH & STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT DIRECTOR

Daniel Kraus is a PhD candidate in Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge, where he researches the disappearance of Indigenous groups in Amazonia. He brings a decade of anthropological research and community engagement with Indigenous peoples of Colombian Amazonia. Daniel has raised and led multimillion-pesos development projects in Colombia with Indigenous organisations, advised NGOs and governmental programmes, bridging activism, community engagement, rights advocacy, and scholarly research.

Daniel now works full-time at La Selva leading the research and stakeholder engagement team. Based on seven years of collaboration with the Tukano people of Colombia and his PhD research, he ensures that Wa’uro is not merely inspired by Indigenous culture but emerges from it—with accuracy, ethics, and cultural sovereignty. He leads narrative architecture, research, consent processes, and co-creation workshops.

  • Santiago Angulo

CO-FOUNDER, AND CREATIVE & TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Santiago is a multidisciplinary creative with a background in architecture and over a decade of experience building high-end immersive digital worlds using Unreal Engine, VR/AR frameworks, and real-time rendering pipelines. Before founding La Selva, he co-founded Vúho and Apollo Entertainment, studios that produced interactive experiences for global partners such as Disney, Manchester City, Trevor Jones, Diplo, José Delbo, and Val Kilmer. In his previous ventures, Santiago led teams across animation, interactive storytelling, and 3D pipeline integration, giving him a rare combination of technical mastery, leadership, and creative direction.

Santiago is currently working full-time at La Selva Game Studio. He guides Wa’uro’s technical architecture and the narrative mechanics that integrate Indigenous knowledge directly into gameplay. He leads the company’s communication strategy and is involved in community collaboration and building strategic alliances with potential investors and collaborators.

  • Edward Leal

    CO-FOUNDER AND ART DIRECTOR

Edward is a seasoned character artist specialising in 3D. Self-taught and passion-driven, he has worked many years with Santiago producing real-time, production-ready characters that merge stylised and photoreal aesthetics. He is proficient in ZBrush, Blender, Substance 3D, Marvelous Designer, and grooming systems. His work spans game studios and animation pipelines, and he has been recognised in several international 3D competitions.

Edward works full-time at La Selva, leading the visual identity of Wa’uro, shaping characters, landscapes, and artifacts. His work draws on archival research, Tukano aesthetic guidance, and technical breakthroughs in Metahuman DNA reshaping and culturally specific grooming. He is responsible for building an entirely new visual grammar that makes the Amazonian cosmologies and historical characters legible on screen.

The Guerrero Family

CULTURE ADVISORY TEAM

Descendants of a lineage of prominent Tukano leaders, shamans, and knowledge-keepers, the Guerrero family are the rightful custodians of the story of Wa’uro. Their mythological, ecological, and ritual knowledge guides Wa’uro’s story, its cosmology, its aesthetics, and its ethical foundations. Currently they are working part-time at La Selva co-authoring the script, reconstructing extinct ceremonial practices, and providing voice acting and performance for the game.
